The 1990s in Frankfurt are international: architects from Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Dedham (in Essex County), London, Paris, Tokyo, Vienna, Zurich – and Berlin – are brought together in Frankfurt 1990–1999, the fifth volume of the popular architecture guide series, which presents their buildings: including the three tallest skyscrapers in Germany (including the tallest in the EU), a luxurious private residence that exceeds the usual standards of living, a school and two kindergartens, a Christian-Muslim funeral hall, a house for art and one for books, as well as housing estates and office buildings. In addition to architecture, selected works of art, furniture design, and music from the decade are once again placed in an urban context. The photographs were again taken by Georg Dörr, this time with two guests: Jon Starck, an industrial designer, and photographer Wolfgang Stahr. The foreword was penned by architecture critic and Siegen emeritus Ulf Jonak, and Frankfurt's head of planning Mike Josef wrote an accompanying text. And, of course, the architecture guide also showcases selected buildings by outstanding Frankfurt architects.
